Onewheel Pint X

The Most Fun Way to Get Around Town

Some gifts are practical. Some are impressive. And then there are gifts that completely change how someone experiences their everyday environment. The Onewheel Pint X falls squarely into that last category. This makes it one of our top picks for what to get the guy who has everything.

What the Onewheel Pint X Is

The Pint X is a compact, single-wheel, self balancing electric rideable board built for everyday riding. Unlike scooters or e-bikes, it balances dynamically using sensors and motors, responding instantly to the rider’s weight shifting and movement.

The Pint X sits just above the entry-level Pint in Onewheel’s lineup, offering more range and power. It’s approachable for new riders, and snappy and fun for experienced riders.

Onewheel first launched back in 2014, and they’ve had over 10 years to work out any kinks and improve their machines, and that’s exactly what they’ve done with the Pint X.

Why the Pint X Is a Great Place to Start

Onewheel makes several models, some of which get quite expensive. The Pint X is the second least expensive option they offer, which makes it a smart starting point for someone curious about Onewheel ownership.

It hits a sweet spot by offering:

  • Enough power to feel confident and responsive
  • Enough range to actually go places
  • A size that’s easy to carry and store

For many riders, it’s not just a starter board. It’s a long-term board they’re perfectly happy sticking with.

What Riding One Is Actually Like

This is not a gadget you just turn on and forget about. Riding a Onewheel feels intuitive, physical, and surprisingly natural once you get the hang of it. You lean forward to go, lean back to slow down, and shift your weight to carve. After a short learning curve, it becomes second nature. A lot of riders end up using an action camera to capture the experience as well. My Experience With Onewheel

I’m a happy owner of an original Pint, and I’ve put hundreds of miles on it, but if I were buying again today I would choose the Pint X without hesitation. The standard Pint has been great and I know what I’d be getting if I bought another – but for a little extra money the Pint X feels like a solid upgrade and a board you could happily stick with long term.

Owning a Onewheel has been an absolute blast. It’s especially fun riding around town, carving down sidewalks, streets, parks, and bike paths, and even heading off pavement when you feel like exploring. Hills are not an issue, and it handles terrain far better than you might expect. Within reason, it just keeps going. Sand is really the only surface where a Onewheel struggles.

There is a learning curve, but the best advice I can give is not to fight it. Lean into it. You are probably going to go down once or twice while learning, so plan accordingly and take it slow at first. Once it clicks, though, riding becomes completely natural.

For the first year I owned mine, I would come home and ride it almost every day. It consistently gets me outside, breathing fresh air, exploring my neighborhood, and riding around town with my kids. It scratches an itch I didn’t even know I had. Once you learn it, carving around feels effortless and second-nature. Some riders even film their rides using drones for sweeping follow shots. If that idea sounds fun, FPV drones like the DJI Avata 2 are basically flying action cameras that can capture incredibly immersive footage.

There’s a range limit, but with the app on your phone and the lights on the board, you can keep track of how far you’ve gone and how much range you have left so you don’t end up walking. If you like anything to do with action sports (snowboarding, skateboarding, bikes, ets..) once you ride one, you immediately understand why people love them.

What Other People Love From Reviews

Don’t take my word for it – across hundreds of reviews and rider feedback, a few themes come up that align with my own opinions:

  • Incredibly fun and addictive
Many owners say it quickly becomes their favorite way to get around short distances.
  • Smooth, responsive ride
The Pint X has enough power to feel stable and confident, even for new riders.
  • Compact and portable
Compared to larger boards, it’s easier to carry into a house, car, or apartment.
  • Well-built and durable
Onewheel has a reputation for solid construction, and the Pint X feels like a premium product.

It’s common to see people say they originally hesitated because of the price, then felt it was absolutely worth it once they started riding.

Who the Onewheel Pint X Is Best For

The Pint X is a great fit for someone who:

  • Enjoys outdoor activities
  • Likes and/or participates in action sports
  • Wants something more exciting than a scooter
  • Lives in a town or city with sidewalks, paths, or smooth roads
  • Already “has everything” in the traditional sense

It’s especially good for people who value experience-based gifts over objects that sit on a shelf.

Bottom Line

The Onewheel Pint X is one of those rare products that actually lives up to the hype. It’s fun, well-built, and genuinely changes how you move through your surroundings.

As a gift, it’s bold and memorable. As a personal purchase, it’s the kind of thing people look for excuses to ride. It’s something most people don’t already own, but immediately love once they try it.
